What you thought of the book,
I liked the book a lot, although I thought the beginning was a bit slow.

Share any favourite quotes and tell us why
“But all I could hear was the fury of the wind, wild against my ears, and the free and heavy drumming of feet beneath me, flying, flying. Home.” Location 5815-5822

I could really see and feel this. I liked the beauty and majesty of the words and how they flowed.

Who was your favourite character, and what did you like best about this character?
My favourite was young Christy. He was a likeable character and I could really understand him. I was able to appreciate how he felt and why he did the things that he did.

What did you like least? And why did you choose this character?
At times, I thought he worried too much, but at the same time, I could understand why.

Did you find anything uplifting? If so, what part and why?
I thought that Christy’s journey of discovering his roots and then accepting his past was uplifting.

What did you think about the style and pacing of the writing?
I liked it, although I did think the beginning was a bit slow. But I really liked how the story started

Overall how did you like this author?
I liked the author, but I am not too sure I would read anymore of her work.

How would you rate this book?
It was between and 2 and 3 treasure box, but because the story was a bit slow and I felt a bit detached from the characters I opted for a 2 treasure box rating.

2 Treasure Boxes - A Good Book

Some additional thoughts
I was not even aware that there were gypsies in Ireland, so I found this fascinating.
